About Alicia

I’m a journalist, writer, editor, digital strategist and publisher.

I have more than a decade of experience creating, developing, assigning and editing compelling, high-performing content that engages target audiences.

I have worked on nonfiction, fiction, audience development with an emphasis on social media and newsletters, digital strategy and web design. I’m invested in the technology and processes behind telling good stories.

As a journalist, I’ve reported from the White House, Congress, and on the ground from diverse locations ranging from the Middle East (where I interviewed Syrian refugees) to the Midwest (where I covered education policy).

I currently work on newsletters at Bloomberg Law and was previously Managing Editor at Denver Business Journal and Senior Editor at The Hill.

As a freelance writer, I write about movies, booze, and dating, but I’m most passionate about pop culture and entertainment. I’ve covered such events as San Diego Comic Con and the Denver Film Festival. As a critic, I’ve been Rotten Tomatoes-certified.

As an independent publisher, I draw on the entire library of my skills for editing, marketing, design, brand development, and workflow management.

I write short stories for literary journals under my own name and genre fiction (romance and sci-fi) under pen names.

I work remotely and enjoy the opportunities of a Colorado lifestyle (mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing). Can’t keep me away from the mountains.

In my down time, I enjoy reading, board games, and superhero movies/TV. I am a triathlete and mental health advocate who strongly rejects the journalism path to burnout. I also have a beloved cat and “security blanket” named Rocket.
